On this episode of UM News, we pay tribute to all those who served to protect our country. Reporter Sojin Josephson and photographer Andy Anderson visited two special veterans living in Missoula. The VETS Office on the UM campus is helping student veterans in unique ways. One organization in town took to the ice rink to show their support for veterans. UM VETS Office is Helping Student Veteran Education
UM has established the Veteran’s Education and Transition Services Office to assist veterans and their family members in achieving academic success. Their goals is to provide a positive environment for veterans and family members. Student veterans have access to their mini-kitchen to make quick meals and a lounge area to watch television and relax while waiting for their next class. They also provide a computer lab with printing, scanning, and faxing capabilities and a quiet study lounge for individuals or groups. UM News photographer, Nick Chrestenson, visited the office to get the story.
