Sarah Yovetich and Dominique Giusti anchor this week’s episode of UM News. One UM class called “Can Giving Change the World?” tries to decide which charity grant money should go to. The new smart chip technology designed to stop fraudulent use of credit and debit cards will be missing from UM Griz cards. And an exceptionally large clock was reset on campus. Griz Cards A Liability For Business Owners
The new smart chip technology designed to stop credit and debit card fraud is missing from UM’s Griz Cards. Businesses had an October first deadline to move to the new system or else become liable for any fraud. UMoney, that students upload to their Griz Cards, presents a risk to local merchants. Massage Therapy
The University of Montana Physical Therapy Department is holding their annual massage fundraiser to raise money for several different programs. These programs help physical therapy students to network together with professional healthcare officials across the nation as well as to study and travel abroad practicing their craft.
New Aquatic Sport Welcomed to Missoula Community
University of Montana is the first college in the state to welcome a new sport. Photographer Ryan Groh and UM News Reporter Domininque Giusti went for a swim to watch a key log rolling competition in action.
Class Selects Local Nonprofits to Receive $10K Grant
$10,000 is a good chunk of change and one UM class is trying to decide where it should go. Reporter Sarah Yovetich and Photographer Joe Lesar stepped inside the classroom to learn more about the program and visited past recipients to watch past grants at work.
