UM News Maroon Show November 19, 2015
This week on UM News, photographer Ryan Groh and reporter Sarah Yovetich went to the Missoula Food Bank to check out how the community is “Canning the Cats.” Another on campus market, is looking to bring fresh choices to the University community. One non-profit organization gives kids the gift of Griz tickets. This show is anchored by Sean Robb and Sojin Josephson, and produced by Dominique Giusti and Joe Lesar.

Grizzly Green Market Provides Local Food Options
Since 2009, buying local and organic food has been on the Top Ten Consumer Trends list. Grizzly Green Market is trying to supply this trend by selling food and baked goods from local farmers and vendors. Photographer Carrie Miller interviewed UM Dining Coordinator Ray Merseal on why he thinks it’s not just a fad.
Former UM Football Players Give Back To The Community
A group of former Griz players annually share the gift of football with some lucky kids in Missoula. UM News reporter Sean Robb and photographer Nick Christenson found out about GrizKidz.
One Button Studio
The Mansfield Library now has a new video recording studio that requires no film or editing experience. With the push of a single button, it can be used for creative and practical purposes. The Missoula Public Library is now looking to build a One Button Studio for the community to use. To learn more about or to use the One Button Studio, you can make reservations here. 16th Annual Can the Cats Raises Money to End Hunger in Missoula

Missoula is looking for their first win in 14 years during the Brawl of the Wild on Saturday, but not on the football field. Reporter Sarah Yovetich and Photographer Ryan Groh checked in to see how the Missoula Food Bank, Mountain Line and other community members were raising money and food donations to “Can the Cats.”

On this episode of UM News, we pay tribute to all those who served to protect our country. Reporter Sojin Josephson and photographer Andy Anderson visited two special veterans living in Missoula. The VETS Office on the UM campus is helping student veterans in unique ways. One organization in town took to the ice rink to show their support for veterans. UM VETS Office is Helping Student Veteran Education
UM has established the Veteran’s Education and Transition Services Office to assist veterans and their family members in achieving academic success. Their goals is to provide a positive environment for veterans and family members. Student veterans have access to their mini-kitchen to make quick meals and a lounge area to watch television and relax while waiting for their next class. They also provide a computer lab with printing, scanning, and faxing capabilities and a quiet study lounge for individuals or groups. UM News photographer, Nick Chrestenson, visited the office to get the story.
