UM News Maroon Show for October 22, 2015
On this episode of UM News, UM’s science wonderland, SpectrUM, for kids is celebrating its eighth birthday this month, UM News reporter Sarah Yovetich and photographer Joe Lesar were there for all the fun. High school students across Montana are getting the opportunity to virtually discuss science, technology, engineering and mathematics at STEMfest. This week on UM News, the UM late-night bus is helping lower D-U-I’s in Missoula. UM News reporter Dominique Giusti and photo journalist Joe Hodgson sat in on a dance class that welcomes Missoulians with disabilities to let loose. Professor Produces Sweeney Todd for Missoula Community Theatre
Professor David Cody leads an orchestra of university students and community members in the musical Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street at the Missoula Community Theatre this fall.Cody hope to make audiences laugh, cry and feel a bit of a thrill, while challenging their musical skills. Photographer Carrie Miller attended the final dress rehearsal before the show to get the story.
First Annual STEMFest Highlights Career Opportunities for High Schoolers
High school students across Montana are getting the opportunity to connect virtually with professors and community leaders in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, also known as STEM. Photographer Andy Anderson and reporter Sojin Josephson visited the Inspired Classroom Studio in Missoula for the conference.
DUI’s Are Down Thanks To The UM Gold Line Bus
The bus offers service downtown on the weekends. UM student, Jeren Robinson, who rides the bus frequently says he enjoys the stress relief it provides. The Gold Line Bus is available to all students and runs from seven to midnight Monday through Wednesday and seven to two a.m. Thursday through Saturday. Photographer Nick Chrestenson followed the bus to get the story.

One UM department uses movement as therapy for folks with disabilities. UM News reporter Dominique Giusti and videographer Joe Hodgson sat in on a dance class that welcomes anyone to let loose.
