The University of Montana kicked off Homecoming 2017 this week with a special performance at Southgate Mall. UM’s drum line accompanied the spirit squad and dance team in their routines at the clock in the mall. After dancing to “Cotton-Eye Joe” the students invited the kids in the audience to join them in learning a cheer. They gave some of the kids their pom-poms to practice with and taught them what to cheer. Parents gathered around to take photos of their kids yelling “Go Griz, Go!” alongside the teams. The mall also hosted a raffle, giving away items like Griz gear and game tickets to pump people up for the upcoming week.
