Lastly, reporter Sean Robb and photographer Andy Anderson looked at how UM students and faculty are spreading the holiday cheer for all to hear. Baking Cookies With The UM Office of International Programs

Chocolate Chip CookiesBefore the holiday break arrives, the UM Office of International Programs hosted a new cookie baking event. Those attending got to bake and enjoy fresh cinnamon and chocolate chip cookies with a cup of hot chocolate. Event organizers say many international students travel back to their home countries during the break, so this event helps bring them together before they leave. The Office of International Programs will be hosting more social events in the spring.

State Higher Education Funding Decreased Along With Enrollment

Students understand that enrollment is down, but funding for higher education has also decreased. Solarize Missoula

s-Solarize Missoula The University of Montana is beginning the switch to solar power to cut down on greenhouse gases, and now a new community driven initiative is working to help Missoula residents install panels of their own Solarize Missoula is a new program that’s helping to educate the people of Missoula about using solar energy to power their homes instead of fossil fuels. ClimateSmart Director Amy Cilimburg says that lots of people who attend their workshops are interested in making the switch.
