National Native Children’s Trauma Center Grant

A program at UM’s college of education has won a three million dollar grant for its National Native Children’s Trauma Center.
The grant will help expand training across native communities. The center works with native children who are facing grief and violence.
The goal of the grant is to increase the number of trauma workers in tribal schools and other agencies.
Director Maegan Rides At The Door says the new resources will also help promote change across these communities. Rides At The Door says the funding will also help the center expand the scope of the work it does.

UM Professor Seeking Treatment for Chronic Refractory Cough

A University of Montana professor has taken charge in developing a treatment for Chronic Refractory Cough, which is a debilitating condition that impacts 4-7 million Americans yearly.
