Sloan Graduate Scholarship Helps Students in STEM
The Sloan Indigenous Graduate Partnership is a scholarship that aims to increase the number of American Indian students working towards their professional degree in the areas of math, science, technology and engineering. The scholarship program partners with University of Montana, Montana State University and Montana Tech. UM Reporter Keeley Van Middendorp looks into how the scholarship is helping students here in Missoula.
Study Jam Helps Students Succeed
Study Jam is a resource for students at UM through the Office for Student Success aimed at giving them the individual help they don’t get in large lecture classes. UM News reporter Mahkia Clark observed the Spanish table to get a closer look at the program.
New Softball Team Brings New Stadium
The addition of the new Division I Women’s Softball team to the University of Montana also brings an addition to Dornblaser Fields. UM News reporters Cole Havens and Jenna Heberden cheered on the Griz at their last fall ball game and found out what they are looking forward to with the new stadium.
UM’s Lewis and Clark Village Appealing To Students
The University of Montana’s off-campus student housing Lewis and Clark Village is turning 10 years old this semester. UM News reporter Allison Molin looked into why so many students are choosing to move into these apartments.

UM Celebrates 20th Annual Dancers On Location
The UM Dance Program celebrates it’s 20th year of Dancers On Location, a concert held in various outdoor settings throughout campus. Dancers On Location takes an innovative, non-traditional approach to a typical dance performance and will be sure to leave both the audience and performers inspired. The event will be held Oct.4 at 12 p.m. and is free to the public. UM News reporters Keeley Van Middendorp and Cole Havens went to a rehearsal to see what the audience can expect.
University of Montana Program Helps Launch Businesses
A new program at the University of Montana helps students and graduates launch their own companies and non-profits to strengthen the economy. UM News Reporter Holly Sinnema visited with one local business to find out more.

In celebration of this weeks Bike Walk Bus Week…Missoula is focusing its attention on getting around in the most healthy and fun way possible…but this isn’t the only week the community uses alternate modes of transportation.
