Students get into home games free with their Griz Card and schedules are available online…but the team wants all of Zootown behind them.

Neighborhood Ambassadors Build Community in University District

12-3-16-ambassadorsOne UM student group promotes quality of life in the University District. The Neighborhood Ambassador Program pays a monthly visit to each house. They follow up on complaints and help build relationships between student renters and permanent homeowners. Neighborhood Ambassador Bryce Rowe says he enjoys reaching out to the community. The program also communicates through their newsletter, blog, and Facebook page.

UM Professor Brings New Perspective to Montana Public Radio

UM Hosts Supply Drive for Standing Rock Indian Reservation

October 14, 2016

standingrockUM students and faculty are reaching out to the Standing Rock Indian Reservation in North Dakota. UM hosted a clothing and supply drive in the University Center Game Room. Standing Rock residents are protesting plans for the Dakota Access oil pipeline to bridge the Missouri River. UC Game Room Program Adviser Joseph Grady says the drive supports unarmed people protecting their homeland and drinking water from potential danger. Grady says they collected nearly 200 potatoes, several cases of water, toys for children, and winter supplies including gloves and firewood.

UM Students Among Hundreds of Annual Bike Theft Victims

UM News reporter Kempson Cross tells us more about crime that affects hundreds throughout the Garden City each year. Missoula PD says locking your bike up in a high-traffic area can help prevent theft and purchase databases, like the one at Big Sky Bikes in Missoula, can help recover stolen bikes.

UM Alum Keeps Kids Active on the Ice

SkateUSAOne University of Montana alum is using his love of skating to provide Missoula kids with a safe place to stay active after school. UM News reporter Kempson Cross got the story over at Missoula’s Glacier Ice Rink. The Missoula Figure Skating Club offers multiple sessions of the newly-updated Learn to Skate USA program throughout the calendar year.
